About The Position

The Human Resources Manager (HRM) at US Foods is responsible for supporting the Area Director of HR in executing the vision and goals of the area. The HRM plays a crucial role in fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture, ensuring the organization has the right talent in place. Key responsibilities include managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and training, while also facilitating the resolution of employee issues and supporting operations in union environments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of HR experience with at least 4 in a professional role.
  • Experience consulting with and advising small management teams.
  • Strong foundation in core HR fundamentals to support various HR practices and processes.
  • Familiarity with employment legislation such as ADA, FMLA, EEOC, FLSA, Title VII.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office software and HRIS familiarity.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior employee relations experience and experience in a collective bargaining environment.
  • Prior experience with affirmative action requirements at a Federal government contractor.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a genuine safety culture that fosters employee well-being through engagement and leadership accountability.
  • Advocate for a positive employee experience and high engagement, identifying and escalating employee experience defects.
  • Participate in the development of department goals and objectives and execute plans to meet these goals.
  • Advise supervisors and managers on the application of Company policies to ensure consistency and accurate policy interpretation.
  • Execute and support communication and change campaigns for strategic HR and business priorities.
  • Lead investigations related to employee relations and summarize findings with recommendations.
  • Support recruitment efforts and develop staffing and retention strategies.
  • Review and coach on hourly level disciplinary and performance management actions.
  • Lead leave administration practices and participate in interactive discussions with employees regarding compliance with ADA.
  • Collaborate with market leaders to ensure HR practices align with business objectives.
