About The Position

The Human Resources Manager (HRM) plays a crucial role in supporting the Area Director of HR by executing the area vision, direction, and goals. This position is responsible for fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging culture within the organization, ensuring that the right talent is in place to achieve key results. The HRM leads various HR functions including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and training, while also facilitating the resolution of employee issues and supporting operations in union environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources management or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a unionized environment.
  • Certification in HR (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP).
  • Experience with employee engagement strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a genuine safety culture that fosters employee well-being through engagement and leadership accountability.
  • Advocate for a positive employee experience and high engagement, identifying and escalating employee experience defects.
  • Participate in the development of department goals and objectives and execute plans to meet these goals.
  • Advise supervisors and managers on the application of company policies to ensure consistency and accurate policy interpretation.
  • Facilitate training as needed, including orientation or leader development.
  • Execute and support communication and change campaigns for strategic HR and business priorities.
  • Lead investigations related to employee relations and summarize findings with recommendations.
  • Support recruitment efforts and develop staffing and retention strategies.
  • Review and coach on hourly level disciplinary and performance management actions.
  • Lead leave administration practices and participate in interactive discussions with employees regarding ADA compliance.
