Meijer offers an 11-week internship program that challenges interns to deliver innovative solutions to real projects that impact the business. Throughout the course of the internship experience, we deliver diverse personal and professional development opportunities that further develop skillsets that can be implemented both during and after the program. The internship program will allow for interaction with other interns and Meijer senior leaders. The internship program includes: Challenging and impactful projects, Final presentations delivered to senior executives, Executive speaker series, Professional development and training opportunities, Networking and community events, Events highlighting key areas of the business.

  • Collaborate with Corporate HR partners across the business.
  • Analyze data and make recommendations to improve process efficiencies.
  • Assist in communicating HR initiatives.
  • Support the development, performance, recognition, and engagement of Meijer's team members.
  • Design, develop, and deliver training and development programs.
  • Oversee programs and processes for performance assessment and talent planning.
  • Implement and improve HR systems and data for better support.
  • Recruit for various positions leveraging social media and networking events.
  • Screen applications, interview candidates, and guide them through the onboarding process.
  • Advise business partners on organizational design, talent development, and employee relations.
  • Progress toward a bachelor's degree; preferably in Human Resources, Labor & Industrial Relations, Organization Development, or related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • 2-4 years of professional work experience is highly preferred.
  • Familiar with HRMS systems Workday and Kronos.
  • Good research and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
