About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detailed-oriented intern to join our dynamic HR team in sunny San Diego, CA. In this role, you will play an important part in supporting a wide range of projects covering the full life-cycle of employment. We are looking for a student able to commit to 12-16 hours/week for a minimum of 6 months, starting around mid-October 2024. Working hours/days can be flexible based on the candidate's class schedule and availability.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Must have a genuine interest in HR and a desire to learn and grow within this field.
  • Knowledge of HR principles and practices is a plus.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Critical thinking ability with a focus on independent research and strong data analysis skills.
  • Ability to effectively summarize large amounts of data and recognize trends.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and integrity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Dive into various HR projects and initiatives, bringing fresh ideas and energy to the table.
  • Create engaging internal and external messages, keep our SharePoint page buzzing, and bring your flair to employee communication campaigns.
  • Play a key role in the onboarding process, ensuring new hires feel welcomed and supported from their first day onward.
  • Get involved in planning and executing employee engagement activities to help create positive lasting memories.
  • Keep our employee records up-to-date and accurate, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
  • Review new and existing policies to ensure they comply with company standards and legal regulations.
  • Promote health and wellness initiatives to support our employees' well-being.
  • Help us find the best talent by reviewing job postings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews.
