The HR Intern will be part of the local (Aurora, IL) HR team on a part-time basis for approximately one year. This position involves various responsibilities including employee relations, recruiting, communication, benefits administration, and administrative tasks. The intern will assist with new hire documents, employee feedback surveys, resume reviews, and job fairs, as well as coordinate employee engagement activities and manage lunch arrangements for the team.

  • Complete new hire documents and follow-up on missing documents.
  • Take questions from employees and work with the team to solve.
  • Assist with employee feedback surveys.
  • Review resumes and conduct basic phone screens.
  • Attend job fairs.
  • Update announcements on physical boards and develop additional content to post to boards and monitors.
  • Assist with entering new hire data in ADP.
  • Conduct general research on various topics.
  • Assist with new hire manual benefit enrollments in ADP.
  • Send reminders to Supervisors of new hire enrollment deadlines.
  • Organize HR filing, including preparing terminated files for shipment to storage.
  • Coordinate lunch every Wednesday, including gathering headcount, ordering lunch, and coordinating delivery.
  • Be a member of the event planning committee.
  • Coordinate the other interns and their onboarding.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Expected graduation date December 2025-Summer 2026.
  • Pursuing a degree in HR.
  • Local with ability to work on-site in Aurora year-round (part-time).
  • Anticipated work hours 15-25/week during school year (potential for up to 30 over summer).
  • Flexibility in work hours; however, Wednesdays 10:00 am-2:00 pm is required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Prior internship/job experience a plus.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office (especially Excel & Word), Canva, and PDF.
