About the position

The HR Generalist at ITCON Services is a dynamic role focused on managing various aspects of human resources within a government contracting environment. This position is pivotal in shaping the organization's culture and addressing HR challenges, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting employees and management in HR-related matters. The role requires a proactive approach to HR administration, including policy development, employee benefits management, and performance appraisal processes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, government regulations, and affirmative action requirements in all HR-related matters.
  • Conduct employee orientation, I-9 verification/E-Verify, and provide support to managers and employees on HR-related topics.
  • Develop and maintain affirmative action program AAP reports and ensure company compliance; file EEO-1 and VETS 4212 annually; maintain records, reports, and logs to conform to government regulations; file certified payroll each pay period.
  • Manage the performance appraisal process and provide guidance to managers on performance management best practices.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans.
  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resources programs including compensation, leave, exit interviews, training, and development.
  • Resolve employee relations issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensure HR policies and procedures are up-to-date and compliant with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Participate in HR-related audits and maintain accurate employee records.
  • Provide support to other HR functions as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in human resources or related field.
  • 4+ years progressively more responsible human resources experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations, including EEO, FMLA, and FLSA.
  • Experience with HRIS and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with tact and professionalism.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience supporting government IT contracting organizations is a plus.
  • Experience with creating a culture of engagement, collaboration, and teamwork.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or PHR is desired but not required if knowledge has been acquired through experience.
