About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the HR Manager in supporting designated geographic regions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruiting, benefit administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and 3 years of Human Resources experience, OR A master's degree in Human Resources Management and 1 year of experience in the HR field, OR 6 years of experience in the HR field, OR any similar combination of education and experience.
  • HR Certification (PHR or SHRM-CP) required.
  • Ability to apply the principles and practices of human resource management.
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects with initiative.
  • Ability to stimulate enthusiasm and commitment in others.
  • Ability to learn quickly and maintain professional demeanor in stressful situations.
  • Must have 2+ years of HRIS experience.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Suite, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience and strong working knowledge in professional services or construction industry.
  • Experience working with labor unions.

Responsibilities

  • Administer various human resources plans and procedures for all of BNB's regions.
  • Provide primary support to recruitment effort for all exempt and non-exempt personnel, students, and temporary employees.
  • Fulfill new employee onboarding duties as assigned.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Monitor performance evaluation program and revise as necessary.
  • Administer and provide expert counsel on benefits administration.
  • Perform all necessary filing and administration of human resource records.
  • Assist with new-employee orientations.
  • Serve as a resource to managers on managing performance and creating a high-performance work culture.
  • Support employees in their efforts to excel in their role and achieve job goals.
  • Handle employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing.
  • Maintain Human Resource Information System records and compile reports from database.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and CA regulations concerning employment.
  • Manage related vendor budget & contracts.
  • Oversee training and development program.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
