About The Position

Signal & Strand is conducting a confidential search for a collaborative and solutions-oriented Human Resources Generalist on behalf of a mission-driven organization. This role serves as a key partner within the HR and Employee Relations team, providing client-centered support across employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and organizational development. The HR Generalist acts as a trusted advisor to employees and people leaders, helping to foster a positive, compliant, and inclusive work environment. This is a high-impact role requiring sound judgment, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage complex and time-sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional-level Human Resources experience.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Experience in employee relations and performance management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn HRIS systems quickly.
  • High level of discretion and ability to manage confidential information.
  • Strong interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Analytical and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace culture.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR, or related HR certification.
  • Experience in complex or multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an initial point of contact for HR-related questions and employee relations matters.
  • Coach and advise managers on performance management, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
  • Support training and professional development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Partner cross-functionally to deliver seamless HR solutions across the employee lifecycle.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and ensure integrity within HRIS systems.
  • Contribute to a culture of inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to employees and people leaders on workplace concerns, policies, and procedures.
  • Support managers in addressing performance issues, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution.
  • Recommend and implement employee relations practices that foster engagement and retention.
  • Assist in diagnosing organizational challenges and developing action plans.
  • Support goal setting and annual evaluation processes.
  • Track completion of performance evaluations and coach managers on best practices.
  • Develop and deliver training on workplace policies, conflict resolution, and performance management.
  • Support leadership development and professional growth initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Maintain confidential employee personnel and recruitment records.
  • Audit HRIS transactions to ensure proper integration with payroll and benefits systems.
  • Monitor and recommend updates to HR policies and procedures.
  • Partner with recruitment to support compliant hiring practices.
  • Assist with job postings, interview processes, and hiring coordination as needed.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Payroll, IT, and other internal stakeholders to support HR initiatives.
  • Provide backup support across HR functional areas as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain HR metrics, reports, and related analysis.
  • Gather and submit compensation data for salary surveys.
  • Support data-informed decision-making across HR programs.
