As a Human Resources Generalist, you will play a critical role in driving employee engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness across the company. Reporting to the HR Director, you will lead employee relations efforts, conduct investigations, and deliver training that fosters a positive workplace culture. You will support compensation analysis, talent acquisition, and early career programs, while guiding employees and managers through performance management and career development processes. This role also involves preparing impactful communications and reports that inform and align teams around key HR initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 2+ years' experience in an HR Generalist role.
  • Proficient in HRIS software – experience with Paycom is a plus.
  • Able to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR compliance standards
  • Proven ability to manage confidential information with integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment
  • High energy and demonstrated success in fast-paced, dynamic environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and organizational skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and coaching, with the ability to diffuse sensitive situations diplomatically

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for employee inquiries at the plant location, providing timely support and fostering a culture of responsiveness.
  • Maintain and update personnel data in the HRIS, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance across all employee records
  • Own hourly recruiting efforts in partnership with other HR representatives, conducting phone screens, coordinating interviews, and extending offers to top candidates.
  • Lead new hire orientation and onboarding, collaborating with stakeholders to deliver a welcoming and impactful employee experience.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regularly reviewing policies and practices to align with legal standards and best practices.
  • Execute core HR programs and processes, including compensation, benefits, leave administration, performance management, investigations, training, and employee wellness.
  • Respond to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex matters as needed.
  • Participate in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, ensuring fairness, documentation, and alignment with company values.
  • Stay current on HR trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies, applying insights to enhance talent management and compliance.
  • Be a visible and approachable presence on the plant floor, conducting daily walk-throughs and greetings to build trust and connection.
  • Collaborate with the HR Director to implement engagement and retention strategies, using data analysis to inform recommendations and drive results.
  • Guide employees and managers through performance management and career development, facilitating growth conversations and improvement plans.
  • Conduct compensation and job grade analyses, making recommendations based on performance, market data, and organizational needs.
  • Enhance university relations and early career programs, creating meaningful experiences for interns and emerging leaders.
  • Prepare and deliver impactful communications and presentations, keeping employees and leadership informed and engaged with HR initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to a collaborative and agile HR team.
