We are looking for a full-time Human Resources Generalist to join our NYAP team. This is a hybrid position with a requirement of going into our Columbus, Ohio office at least once a week with an option to work from home the other days. Candidates must also be open to traveling as needed for the role. Compensation: $50,000 annually. Support the Regional Human Resources Directors in the provision of a professional and comprehensive advisory and support service, ensuring appropriate consistency of practice across the organization. Collaborate with the Leaders of the Organization to drive geographical, program specific initiatives, and work closely with HR team regarding functional priorities and desired and sustainable business outcomes in the state/region. In partnership with the Regional Human Resources Director, provide consultation, support, and coaching to leaders at all levels on talent management practices. Partner with Talent, Culture, Payroll, Finance, IT, Education, and other departments, to develop an understanding of their functions. Develop an understanding of required background checks and employee eligibility verifications. Collaborates with HR team to understand and develop successful onboarding plans and educate newly hired employees on NYAP Culture, HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations. Support HR Coordinators in their onboarding and offboarding responsibilities. Develop an understanding and support the leaders with evaluations and employee changes. Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development. Participate in developing and implementing HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements. Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve employee experience. Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required. Develops an understanding of NYAP’s culture and the needs of the business from the HR Department. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Develops an understanding of employment laws that impact the organization day to day. Maintains confidentiality. Performs other duties as requested.
