Information Systems & Computing (ISC) is seeking a Human Resources Generalist who is a well-rounded, collaborative, service-oriented and people focused HR professional. The position will work in close collaboration with the Assistant Director and Director of Human Resources, to support the talent acquisition life-cycle process and provide overall support for the day-to-day HR operations. The HR Generalist also supports employee focused initiatives and programs such as employee engagement, talent management, & recognition. The ISC HR Generalist fosters a culture of belonging and demonstrates strong partnering capabilities across all levels of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Proficiency in Workday, including managing employee records, processing HR transactions, data analytics, and reporting
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to compose and edit written communications essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across teams
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion in managing confidential and sensitive information
  • Proven track record of initiating HR projects that improved employee engagement, compliance, or operational efficiency
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of applications

Nice To Haves

  • Previous HR experience in talent acquisition, preferably in the IT field
  • Experience in an academic environment
  • Experience working culture and engagement initiatives in a hybrid environment
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively
  • Knowledge of employment law
  • PHR/SHRM-CP, SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of full Talent Acquisition life cycle process.
  • Serve as the centralized intake for requisition requests.
  • Consult with hiring managers, scope role, ensure selection panel is established, provide guidance on an effective and compliant selection process consistent with established processes and best practices.
  • Partner with hiring managers to inform sourcing strategy and to source and screen candidates.
  • Facilitate the process through reference check, offer negotiations, and background check
  • Administer the ISC orientation and onboarding processes and program
  • Utilize Workday, enter transactions and maintain employment records related to hiring, terminations, organization/ structure changes, transfers, or promotions
  • Advise on employee HR inquiries and concerns. Provide guidance to management and staff regarding university human resources policies and procedures
  • With guidance, address employee relations issues, work complaints, and other employee concerns. Support the completion of unemployment inquiries as needed.
  • Review exit interview data, track themes and partner with HR team on addressing any concerns or next steps
  • Support overall departmental compliance requirements including, but not limited to, annual compliance training, workday compliance, etc.; prepares a variety of reports to support a variety of HR metrics and reporting.
  • Support the creation of standard operating procedures as needed
  • Actively contribute to and assist in the administration of employee focused initiatives, programs, talent management and other continuous improvement efforts
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
