About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist plays a crucial role in supporting early childhood education programs by managing various HR operational activities. This position focuses on recruitment, retention, learning and development, performance management, and ensuring legal compliance, all aimed at fostering a positive work environment for employees and better outcomes for children and families served.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in related field required; bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of Human Resource experience required; Human Resources Generalist background preferred.
  • Experience in recruiting, employment compensation, benefits, organizational development, employee relations, and learning and development is preferred.
  • Prior experience working in Head Start or early childhood education or related field is a plus.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP or an equivalent certification preferred.
  • Bilingual language skills preferred.
  • Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and/or reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Support all Human Resource activities including employee relations, total rewards, training/development, reporting, and compliance.
  • Establish effective partnerships with various teams to facilitate the provision of strategic HR services, requiring frequent travel to centers.
  • Facilitate pre-hire onboarding activities and new employee orientations, coordinating and delivering HR-facilitated sessions.
  • Coordinate the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries, recommending improvements when identified.
  • Maintain Human Resource databases, computer software systems, and manual/electronic filing systems, ensuring employee data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Drive assigned Human Resource projects to successful completion.
  • Conduct research and investigation into operational issues, preparing and analyzing information for the HR team and company.
  • Participate in assigned meetings, professional development, and training as required.
  • Assist in the employee leave management and worker compensation process, meeting with employees and managers.
  • Perform any/all other duties as assigned.
