About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist at Grainger serves as a Business Partner to operational counterparts, guiding team members and leadership in various HR functions. This role focuses on translating human capital effects to support organizational goals, including change projects, talent building, team engagement, culture enhancement, and performance improvement. The position is based onsite at the Grainger Distribution Center in Patterson, California, and involves supporting first shift operations with flexible start times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree BA/BS or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a related field required.
  • A degree in Human Resources, related field, or equivalent progressive experience.
  • Working knowledge of Human Resource practices with expertise in staffing, new hire orientation, and onboarding.
  • Experience solving human resources issues.
  • Ability to manage confidential information.
  • Diagnose problems, develop alternative solutions, and recommend and implement a course of action.
  • Proficiency in systems, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate programs and implement process improvements within Human Resources and across the Distribution Center.
  • Handle all ongoing people-related projects.
  • Implement Human Resources policies, procedures, and programs that support the company's strategy.
  • Identify ways to improve resources to provide an efficient structure to the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State legislation related to all human resources matters.
  • Help with the implementation and administration of communications plans.
  • Administer the workers compensation program for the facility.
