About The Position

The City of Round Rock is looking for a collaborative and forward-thinking Human Resources Generalist to join our team! In this role, you'll be a trusted partner to employees and managers across the organization and be supporting them through every stage of the employee lifecycle. From workforce planning and job fairs to onboarding, employee relations and exit interviews, you'll play a key role in shaping a positive and productive workplace culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least four (4) years of experience in human resources management.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Building strong, supportive relationships with employees and supervisors to provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Lead and support the talent acquisition efforts, including workforce planning, job postings, job fairs, interview panels, and hiring support.
  • Host and present at New Employee Orientation (NEO) to ensure new hires feel welcomed, informed, and connected from day one.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to managers and employees to foster a positive and respectful work environment.
  • Conduct timely, objective, and confidential investigations into employee concerns, ensuring fair and consistent resolution aligned with City policies.
  • Assist in managing the employee disciplinary process in collaboration with supervisors to develop corrective action plans that support accountability and engagement.
  • Conducting exit interviews to gather feedback and identify trends that can inform retention strategies and workplace improvements.
  • Developing and facilitating training sessions and presentations to support employee growth and understanding of HR topics.
  • Oversee the city-wide performance evaluation process, ensuring timely completion, consistency, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Provide support and guidance to managers and employees on the performance evaluation system and best practices.
  • Analyze HR data, including performance and exit trends, to identify opportunities for employee development and organizational improvement.
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of HR policies, procedures, and systems to enhance service delivery and compliance.
  • Taking initiative on special projects and process improvements that make our work more efficient and impactful.
