The HR Generalist plays a crucial role in the day-to-day administration of HR programs and policies for our headquarters and agency operations across the country. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and delivering corporate and customized HR services that support regional objectives. The HR Generalist will manage payroll processing, benefits administration, and perform HR functions for multiple external clients. In collaboration with the region's Talent Partner, the Generalist will work with key stakeholders and employees to provide recommendations on strategic HR solutions aimed at improving critical business outcomes. The HR Generalist will work with multiple vendors and processes payroll transactions, utilizing systems such as ADP, PayChex, Paycom, Paylocity, Paycor, and Kronos. This role requires independent management of multi-state payroll and related activities, including the computation of wage and overtime payments, payroll deductions, paycheck advances, bonus runs, commissions, fringe benefit reporting, and separation payments. The Generalist will also conduct audits of payroll, benefits, or other HR programs and recommend corrective actions as necessary. Additionally, the role involves benefits administration, including enrollments, terminations, and open enrollment processes. As the primary resource for employees regarding HR, payroll, and benefits, the HR Generalist will ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements. This includes administering COBRA, ADA, FMLA, Unemployment, and Workers Compensation. The Generalist will assist consultants with HR initiatives, maintain strong business relationships, and provide excellent customer service to employees across multiple clients. They will also provide guidance on HR policies and procedures, audit employee handbook policies, and research state and local employment laws to ensure compliance. The HR Generalist will serve as a trusted advocate for employees, effectively resolving complex employee-related issues and grievances, and will analyze employee trends to identify recurring issues and provide recommendations to local leadership.
