About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist/Recruiter is responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success throughout Palms Medical Group (PMG). The incumbent must possess considerable skill in interviewing techniques, a good knowledge of all clerical and specialized functions in PMG, a basic understanding of PMG’s organizational structure as well as an extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.

  • Knowledge of staffing systems and tools
  • Experience in managing applicant data bases
  • Experience of applicant tracking systems
  • Must have knowledge of employment regulations with the DOL, EE OC and OFCCP.
  • Knowledge of various functions (manufacturing, quality, sales, marketing, engineering, information systems, etc.) within an organization and the challenges of filling positions within those departments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly present recommendations and ideas and to summarize complex issues.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential material.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of coworkers by sharing knowledge, providing guidance, and supporting skill development.
  • Employee will enforce safety procedures
  • Employee will be expected to navigate and operate Microsoft Office suite products, including Word and Excel
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related business degree and minimum 5 years in a Human Resources Generalist role focused on recruitment of all levels of employees from entry level non-exempt positions to Senior Leadership positions preferred.
  • Graduate coursework in related field may substitute for years of experience at a 1:1 ratio

Responsibilities

  • Recruit top talent including sourcing, interviewing and reference checking.
  • Determine and implement recruiting best practices.
  • Partner with managers to determine requirements for the position and qualities of an ideal candidate.
  • Identify recruiting sources, assess new talent and develop leading-edge methods to attract diverse talent.
  • Conduct independent sourcing via social recruiting, networking, job postings, cold calls, etc.
  • Attend various recruitment events throughout the year to attract top talent.
  • Post positions that will attract top talent/create advertising.
  • Ensure that personnel requisitions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Assist with clinical student compliance and onboarding.
  • Assist with editing and creating job descriptions and posting job descriptions.
  • Conduct reference checks.
  • Conduct candidate screenings and assist with scheduling in-person interviews for internal and external applicants.
  • Administer background investigations.
  • Partner with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to determine appropriate compensation packages.
  • Manage the requisition log and applicant/interview/hire reports.
  • Oversee interview tools.
  • Assist with employee engagement and annual employee evaluations.
  • Serve as backup when needed for payroll, benefits and HRIS needs.
  • Track BLS renewals for PMG employees and assist with coordinating a monthly BLS renewal class.
  • Assists with new hire orientation.
  • Prepare a variety of reports as requested by HR Director.
  • Ensures PMG’s compliance with all applicable Local, State, and Federal labor and employment regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, and ADA.
  • Assist in OSHA, HIPAA, and other training to be completed by all employees.
  • Help maintain employee personnel files and the Human Resources policy manual. Assists senior management in interpretation of human resources policies. Proposes new human resources policies, with authorization from the CAO or CEO. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
