About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist at Turner Construction will provide comprehensive HR support to assigned business units, focusing on recruiting, employee relations, talent management, training, and benefits. This role serves as a liaison between employees and management, ensuring a supportive and inclusive workplace culture while advocating for employee health and wellbeing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of HR policies, operations, and processes, particularly in employee relations and compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced MS Excel skills, and HRIS (SAP preferred).
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bi-lingual, fluent in Spanish.
  • Professional in Human Resources® (HRCI PHR®) or Society of Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM CP®) certification preferred.
  • Experience in construction or large organizations (10,000+ employees) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Represent company culture, values, and Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) activities across the company.
  • Administer and communicate Human Resources (HR) related programs, policies, and procedures to assigned business unit.
  • Establish a trusting environment for employees to engage with HR.
  • Contribute new ideas for continuous improvement in HR effectiveness.
  • Manage onboarding and college recruiting activities, including sourcing and recruitment of interns and experienced hires.
  • Serve as primary candidate contact and coordinate employee onboarding programs.
  • Liaise with employment agencies and internal hiring managers to support operational needs.
  • Organize and implement internship programs and serve as escalation point of contact for interns.
  • Provide guidance to hiring managers for executing offers and onboarding processes.
  • Manage immigration and work authorization-related processes for employees.
  • Support activities relating to employee discipline, performance improvement plans, and employee relations counseling.
  • Manage and facilitate performance and development program processes.
