About The Position

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Human Resources Generalist to join our team. Serving as a vital link between our valued employees and management, this position contributes to the cultivation of a cohesive and productive workplace environment while upholding the company’s policies and compliance with legal regulations. This is a hands-on, standalone HR role supporting a stable 90–100 employee manufacturing operation. You’ll own day-to-day HR while partnering directly with leadership in the Herzog wine manufacturing facility.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of organizational principles, planning, records management, and general administration.
  • Dependability, adaptability, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with the capacity to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Employee relations experience, Onboarding of new employees
  • Strong project management and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree is preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual strongly preferred
  • Human Resources Certification and some payroll experience is preferred.
  • Bamboo, HRIS system experience is preferred
  • Proactive HR Generalist, Organized, Perform any disciplinary requirements

Responsibilities

  • Travel to the sister location in Bakersfield once every other week as required
  • Lead new hire onboarding, ensuring understanding of company expectations, safety practices, and kosher facility protocols
  • Serve as the primary HR contact for employee relations, concerns, and general HR support
  • Manage employee engagement initiatives across facilities
  • Conduct employee relations investigations in compliance with legal guidelines
  • Maintain employee records and HR data using BambooHR
  • Support supervisors and employees with HR guidance, policies, and processes
  • Oversee local payroll processes to ensure accuracy and best practices
  • Assist with compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Support performance reviews, corrective actions, and manager coaching
  • Coordinate training, employee events, open enrollment, and related HR activities
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned
  • OSHA compliance, Workman's Comp

  • Salary range between $75,000 - $81,000/year – may be eligible for additional, discretionary incentive compensation based on the individual and the company’s performance.
