As a Human Resource Generalist 2 within the Division of Administrative Services, you will play a crucial role acting as lead worker within the benefits section, who serves most agencies under the Department of Homeland Security. This position requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual with strong interpersonal skills to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of HR processes. The successful candidate will work closely with employees and management to identify the needs of the section to ensure accuracy and compliance while fostering a positive work environment. Must have the ability to organize and prioritize assignments while collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline and improve processes. The candidate must be proactive and have the ability to independently carry out assignments of a complex and confidential nature. Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns and provide timely and effective resolutions. The responsibilities also include but are not limited to, review proposed human resources documents and transactions entered by HR Generalist 1's, aid by answering general questions, provide guidance, assistance and problem resolution. Reviews and critiques a variety of benefit transactions prior to submittal into the wvOasis system. Monitors, Audits, and makes payments for (49) (PEIA) Public Employees Insurance accounts on both sides of the PEIA billing (The Policyholder side and the RHBT-Retiree side). Create training materials and power-point to maintain an effective training program and continuously evaluate for effectiveness. Conduct training sessions both in-house and at conferences for field personnel and new hires within our department. Will serve as a backup to the Administrative Services Manager 1. Will utilize state operating systems such as PEIA, FBMC, and WVOasis. Knowledge of federal, state and department laws, policies and rules including Division of Personnel Administrative Rule, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of organizational structure and chain of command. Performs related duties as assigned.
