About The Position

The Human Resources Expert at Target plays a crucial role in fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for both guests and team members. This position involves supporting the HR team in building a diverse workforce, addressing staffing needs, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. The HR Expert is responsible for engaging with guests, assisting with recruitment, training, and operational HR programs, all while promoting a culture of ethical conduct and safety.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law
  • Experience using basic Office Suite computer and workforce management programs
  • Knowledge of industry-leading people and scheduling software
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners

Responsibilities

  • Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
  • Observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact
  • Engage with guests in a genuine way, asking questions to better understand their specific needs
  • Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the store to solve issues for guests
  • Thank guests genuinely and express appreciation for their choice to shop at Target
  • Know the store sales goals and trends impacting business results
  • Work with HR leaders to anticipate and address specific talent and staffing needs
  • Execute intentional recruiting efforts to help store leaders find and hire talent
  • Support the training needs of the store's sales force and advocate for continuous learning
  • Be an expert resource for scheduling systems and pay practices
  • Act as an open door by listening to team members and collaborating with leaders
  • Deliver on all Human Resources operational and cyclical programs
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  • Work safely and identify and correct hazards
  • Perform other duties based on business needs
