About The Position

The Director - Field Services reports to the Vice President - Human Resources & Employment Counsel and is responsible for leading a team of business partners (HRBP) and generalist level associates to support the programmatic and fundamental human resource work for a variety of workgroups. This work includes associate relations support, investigations, performance management process, organizational design work, coaching and development, leadership training, and learning/facilitation. In this role, the Director will oversee a team that interacts daily with our diverse workforce of more than 18,000 domestic and international employees.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree or additional higher education is desired.
  • 6-8 years of related work experience.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Ability to work with multi-level teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Very strong organizational skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines with accurate and detailed results.
  • Strong self-starter with initiative, able to take tasks through completion with solid results.
  • Experience with Navex EthicsPoint, RosterApps, ADP Payroll System.
  • Proven experience building constructive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Willing and able to work non-standard work schedules when necessary due to business needs.
  • Possess the legal right to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Airline experience in order to understand the business and differences in operational groups.
  • Knowledge of a unionized workforce, including: Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) and grievance/arbitration process.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of HR Business Partners and HR Coordinators providing guidance on investigations and best practices.
  • Establish strong relationships with various business units within HR (Talent Acquisition, HR Compliance, Compensation & Benefits, Communications and Talent Development) and with executive leadership to understand and execute the needs of the organization.
  • Lead and participate in multiple special, high-profile projects in a fast-paced environment, including, but not limited to: intersection of AI and HR, conversion of Human Resources functions into reportable data, and ability to analyze and present data.
  • Coach managers and leadership on HR policies and processes including performance management & career development.
  • Understand current HR procedures, regulations, and laws with the ability to develop new policies based on organizational needs.
  • Investigate high profile investigations, when applicable, and draft associated work product, including summaries and memos with analysis and recommendations.
  • Demonstrate an ability to align with and contribute to a shared vision, working collaboratively across teams to achieve common goals.
  • Exercise sound business judgment and handle confidential information with sensitivity.
  • Possess strong project management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
