About The Position

The Human Resources (HR) Director oversees all Human Resources functions across multiple business units to ensure all policies and procedures are aligned with and elevate WindRiver’s goals, mission, and values. The HR Manager fosters a culture of integrity, trust, and continuous improvement by providing guidance, training, and development opportunities to management and employees.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience utilizing HRIS platforms and workforce data reporting tools.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM certification, or other HR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of company-wide HR initiatives, including but not limited to succession planning and leadership development
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with, regulatory rules and standards relevant to the entire company, which includes, but is not limited to, the following: Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA); U.S. Department of Labor; Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Maintain an effective level of literacy about the Company’s financial position, its strategic planning objectives, as well as its culture and its competition. Provide ongoing analysis of Key Performance Indicators to inform future operational, staffing, and budgeting decisions.
  • Analyze workforce trends, metrics, and reporting to support data-driven HR decision-making.
  • Act as a representative for the Executive Team in all business interactions.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Act as a model for all Employees, abiding by all company policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Manual and other documents, and ensuring the integrity of WindRiver’s values, principles, and standards in decision-making and interactions with others.
  • Ensure compliance with equal opportunity and other applicable laws in recruiting, hiring, training, compensation, terminations, and layoffs. Consult legal counsel to ensure policy compliance with local, state, and federal law as needed.
  • Maintain Employee Handbooks and related personnel policies for multiple companies. Review Employee Handbook with all new employees and inform current employees of any changes to the Handbook as they occur.
  • Establish and implement recruiting, screening, testing, and interview programs. Maintain pool of current applicants and applicant files. Set up and maintain a system for reviewing current applications and notifying appropriate managers of good candidates.
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new employees, including conducting reference and background checks on qualified individuals.
  • Conduct new employee orientation and foster positive attitude toward Company goals.
  • Set up and maintain well organized and detailed personnel files for all employees. Ensure up-to-date information is kept regarding employee emergency contacts, address and phone numbers, status, insurance and benefits enrollments, company seniority, raises and promotions, and corrective action documentation. Maintain employee evaluation schedules for all employees and keep records for personnel files.
  • Review and process accurate bi-weekly payrolls and maintain payroll records.
  • Continually evaluate and recommend changes and adjustments to the Company’s Total Rewards Program, including base compensation, benefits, and other incentives. Administer benefits program. Research, recommend, and secure cost-effective benefits programs and lead renewal and open enrollment processes.
  • Coordinate the planning and organizing of employee socials and events.
  • Act as liaison to workers’ compensation insurance. Submit accident reports and maintain records for worker’s compensation claims and audits. Investigate accidents and prepare reports for worker’s compensation insurer.
  • Maintain, update, and create job descriptions to be relevant for new hiring and currently staffed positions.
  • Research and recommend outside training and development opportunities for staff and management.
  • Ensure fair, consistent application of personnel policies. Advise managers of personnel policies and appropriate resolution of employee issues. Ensure compliance with personnel policies and procedures, including proper documentation of disciplinary action.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation and conduct employee exit interviews.
  • Handle all unemployment claims.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Executive Team.
