About The Position

Responsible for performing a variety of Human Resource support duties. Completes assigned reporting functions involving attendance statistics, termination, hire, and transfer data, and other information assigned. Provides recommendations regarding the development and administration of human resource policies and programs. Performs general office support functions and assists area personnel as necessary.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Human Resource functions and HRIS functions.
  • Knowledge of all related computer applications.
  • Understanding of Human Resource Department reporting and recordkeeping requirements.
  • General knowledge of Human Resources-related compliance requirements
  • Strong Organizational skills.
  • Accurate and attentive to detail.
  • Strong typing and computer application skills.
  • Excellent communication and public relations abilities.
  • Ability to assist and support others.
  • Able to operate telephone, PC, copier, and other basic business machines.
  • At least 2-3 years of related Human Resources experience.
  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Additional related training preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process new hires during orientation sessions; explain benefits, policies, and procedures of the credit union, and enroll in benefit programs.
  • Process daily correspondence and prepare reports, presentations, and spreadsheets for the Human Resources SVP and other members of the management team. Utilize a range of computer applications and ensure accuracy of work.
  • Handle payroll processing, tracking, and reporting payroll information.
  • Answer telephone, disseminate information on benefits or policies, and/or route calls to the appropriate individual. Take messages and coordinate follow-through. Determine urgency of call. Research and respond to questions, providing backup information.
  • Assist in scheduling and/or arranging phone interviews and/or appointments for applicants, meetings, business trips, etc.
  • Process any change of status requirements (name or address change, marital change, promotion, salary increase, etc.); process changes in insurance or benefits programs.
  • Assist in maintaining the Human Resource database and all employee records and files.
  • Prepare paperwork for salary changes with discretion.
  • Update and maintain the human resources database.
  • Perform specialized or confidential administrative duties, including researching data and preparing reports as needed.
  • Manage and control the events calendar for the department. Assist with employee celebrations, employee recognition, and other company events as needed.
  • Assist with open enrollment for company benefits
  • Compose, process, and sign standard letters. Ensure accuracy of work.
  • Work with the benefits provider to handle employee issues and benefits compliance.
  • Assist with gathering required information for annual 401K/Payroll/Worker’s Compensation compliance audits, both internally and externally.
  • Any and all other job duties as assigned.
