G&A Partners' client is currently seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join its team in San Antonio, TX. Girl Scouts of Southwest Texas (GSSWT) is headquartered in San Antonio, TX and serves more than 15,000 Girl Scouts (girls and adults) across 21 counties in southwest Texas. Girl Scouts is the world’s preeminent leadership development organization for girls, building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for aligning human resources to the business of Girl Scouting. The coordinator works closely with the Chief Financial Officer to ensure that personnel needs for the council are met and coordinates with internal customers and the council’s Professional Employment Organization to implement solutions that contribute to achieving the overall goals of the council.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must be proficient with computer and Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • The employee is required to maintain membership with Girl Scouts of the United States of America throughout the duration of their employment with GSSWT.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, implements and maintains business solutions related to human resources.
  • Recommends human resource strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes, identifying problems, evaluating trends, and anticipating requirements.
  • Serves as the liaison with council’s professional employment organization regarding staff recruitment, new employee onboarding, benefits enrollment, payroll, staff development, workplace injuries, leaves of absence, status changes, etc.
  • Advises supervisors on organizational human resource policy matters and recommends needed changes.
  • Prepares payroll for final approval and maintains all payroll records.
  • Administers performance management system.
  • Provides administrative support for committee, Board, staff and other meetings.
  • Maintains office records, including financial and human resources records.
  • Receives and opens all incoming department mail.
  • Processes monies received in the mail or hand-delivered into point of sale (POS) software.
  • Makes bank deposits.
  • Maintains volunteer system database by entering case management information accurately and timely.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned in support of the council’s mission and goals.
