Colorado Academy (CA) seeks a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to support the Human Resources Director and serve as a key resource for all faculty and staff. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational and communication skills, thrive in a collaborative environment, and possess a strong sense of ownership over HR processes and employee support functions. This position is full-time, year-round, and will begin on January 6, 2026.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for the Business Office including visitor management and general customer service support to all Business Office team members.
  • Maintain employee records in compliance with state and federal regulations; regularly audit and archive files for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain Business Office files (electronic and paper) as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment law compliance.
  • Support the recruiting process for all departments by posting job openings, managing applications, coordinating interviews, and maintaining communication with candidates.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruiting support, onboarding, changes in employment status, and offboarding processes
  • Coordinate new hire orientation and assist with employee integration across departments.
  • Maintain and update CA’s HR Information System (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Paycom, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist with ongoing system audits, reporting, and process improvement within HRIS and ATS platforms.
  • Provide confidential support to employees regarding HR inquiries and direct them to appropriate resources.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Business Office team, assisting with special projects and other duties as they arise.
  • Manage the Pop-Up School Store, including weekly openings as well as scheduling dates and times to coincide with major school events, inventory tracking, and on-site point of contact for sales and customer service.
  • Partner with the Security Team to support administrative tasks such as system scheduling, and documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards consistent with CA’s mission and values.
  • Abide by all policies outlined in Colorado Academy’s Employee Policy Book.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; a focus in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in an HR or administrative office environment required; direct HR experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with HR systems and technology, including Paycom (preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and database management tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituents including employees, parents, students, and the broader school community.
  • A positive attitude, flexibility, empathy, and a willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Bachelor’s degree; focus in HR or business is preferred
  • Experience in an office environment is preferred, with direct HR experience a plus
  • Advanced understanding and ability to use computers and technology including Microsoft Windows and Office products (especially Word and Excel), Google products (Gmail, sheets, docs), basic office equipment, and an advanced understanding of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; outstanding judgment and problem-solving skills including the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
  • Well-developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all constituents in a school environment, including students, co-workers, parents, alumnus, volunteers, and the public
  • Adaptability, honesty, self-reliance, teamwork, discretion, dependability, flexibility, willingness to listen and learn, work ethic, determination, persistence, problem-solving skills, research skills, empathy and congeniality are essential.
  • Prior experience with Paylocity is preferred
  • Prior experience with Blackbaud is a plus
