We are looking for a motivated and organized Human Resources (HR) Coordinator to support our HR functions and ensure a positive experience for all camp staff. The HR Coordinator will assist with recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance. The Role: HR Operations: Support HRIS processes including data entry with speed, accuracy, and a ministry-minded attitude. Perform daily HR transactions, including employee data changes, file maintenance, and reporting. Partner with the HR Leadership and HR team to ensure consistent, high-quality operations. Periodically support the Finance team in payroll processing as needed. Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist the HR Generalist by posting job openings, screening assigned applications, and scheduling interviews. Support the background check process and ensure timely communication with candidates. Work with the HR team to ensure new hires experience a welcoming and Christ-centered onboarding process. HR Compliance: Follow established HR procedures and best practices to support compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws. Ensure employee records are accurate, complete, and handled with confidentiality and integrity. Training & Development: Coordinate staff training sessions, workshops, and professional development opportunities. Help ensure trainings reflect Hume’s mission, values, and biblical foundation. Our ideal candidate: Evidenced commitment to the Christian faith and a desire to share the knowledge of Jesus Christ. 2-4 years in a church, faith-based ministry or Christian camp preferred, not required. Exceptional administrative skills with a strong capacity for accurately processing people transactions and operating Hume’s HRIS and ATS systems. Entry-level understanding of HR practices, employment law, and regulatory compliance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with a diverse team. Ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive situations, and manage multiple tasks efficiently. Desires to conduct all HR activities with a Biblical perspective. Proficiency in HR software, Microsoft Office Suite, and database management. Primary work location is Hume’s Fresno office. Able to agree with our Statement of Belief and abide by the Standard of Conduct.
