About The Position

The Human Resources Coordinator provides essential administrative and operational support to the Human Resources function under the leadership of the Associate Vice President of Administration. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth day-to-day HR operations while contributing to a positive and supportive employee experience. The HR Coordinator supports a wide range of activities, including recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, compliance, and learning and growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 2–3 years of HR, administrative, or related experience.
  • Working knowledge of HR best practices; familiarity with HRIS systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with SharePoint and Canva strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Ability to remain stationary (sitting or standing) for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials or office equipment as needed.
  • Frequent use of a computer, printer, and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally, including hearing and speaking in person and by phone.
  • Ability to move throughout the office and attend off-site meetings or events when required.
  • Successful completion of required background checks, including: PA State Criminal PA Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse FBI Fingerprinting

Responsibilities

  • Post job openings and support hiring managers by reviewing applications and coordinating interview schedules.
  • Prepare new hire materials and coordinate onboarding sessions.
  • Ensure a smooth onboarding experience, including system access and completion of required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in the HRIS and personnel files.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including required postings and reporting.
  • Assist with background checks, clearances, and other credentialing requirements.
  • Respond to general HR inquiries in a timely, supportive, and professional manner.
  • Facilitate and support the Employee Engagement Committee (Culture Crew), including scheduling meetings, tracking participation and outcomes, managing communications, and ensuring alignment with organizational policies.
  • Support employee recognition, wellness initiatives, and engagement activities.
  • Assist with HR communications, including reminders, announcements, and updates.
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment and respond to benefits-related questions.
  • Process routine payroll and benefits changes in applicable systems.
  • Coordinate benefit communications and support open enrollment logistics.
  • Track employee training and professional development activities.
  • Assist in coordinating staff workshops and learning opportunities.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Administration team as needed.
  • Contribute to HR projects that strengthen organizational culture and enhance the employee experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
