Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area of study with focus on Human Resources Management
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on payroll support experience
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of local laws and regulations concerning employment standards, human rights, and health and safety.
  • Proven experience in leading HR projects and initiatives.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (preferably Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and influencing abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • CHRP or in progress in preferred
  • Experience working in a manufacturing and/or union environment is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Managing daily employee inquiries, prepare official correspondence, and address questions concerning compensation, benefits, policies, and other employment-related matters.
  • Administering employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and terminations.
  • Supporting the implementation of HR policies and ensure adherence through consistent interpretation and enforcement of established procedures.
  • Coordinating the recruitment process for hourly positions, including interviewing and facilitating the hiring of qualified candidates; collaborate closely with departmental managers to assess required skills and competencies.
  • Conducting or coordinate background checks, drug screenings, and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Conducting thorough new employee orientations to facilitate a seamless onboarding process.
  • Partnering effectively with Payroll, Benefits Team, and Managers/Supervisors to oversee leave of absence and return-to-work procedures, ensuring compliance and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Actively contribute to and participate in Group HR projects as required.
  • Assisting in organizing and executing engagement and wellness initiatives, recognition events and company social events and activities.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of HRIS data and employee records
