This position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.

Requirements

  • Must successfully complete the required pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SC or PHR or SPHR credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.
  • At least two years of experience with resolving employee relations issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Must possess strong computer skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including benefits and payroll administration, compensation practices, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as coach and mentor for regional management.
  • Conducts regular meetings with respective regional teams.
  • Consults with area management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues by conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to area management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Supports talent management including, interviewing, onboarding, new hires, promotions, and transfers.
  • Identifies training needs for regional partner groups and communicates to training and development department.
  • Required to visit worksites a minimum of once per quarter.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
