About The Position

We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to support HR operations and employee engagement at our manufacturing plant in Woodbridge, NJ. This role will have two primary focus areas: 1) providing day-to-day HR support, ensuring compliance, and assisting with key HR processes for the plant; and 2) working across the AMI organization on HR projects focused on improvement of HR processes and standardization. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, project management skills and will work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The position is responsible for effective and successful people and process management and communications for on-exempt and exempt employees. This includes but is not limited to union & employee relations, grievance investigations, staffing, employee engagement, performance management, HR reporting and HR compliance. The Woodbridge, NJ facility continues its legacy by striving to produce high-quality metal building products that support customers across North America. Woodbridge manufactures steel/aluminum siding, soffit systems, trim coil and accessories. The facility recently received a multimillion-dollar investment in a state-of-the-art electrical controls system for the coil coating line. This upgrade introduced ease-to-use controls that enhance operational precision and efficiency, helping ensure customers receive a consistent, professional finish on every product.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 2-7 years minimum HR experience (internships included).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with ADP is a plus for HRIS/payroll.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Union relations / Collective Bargaining experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, practices and programs.
  • Assist with recruiting efforts for hourly and salaried positions in partnership with Talent Acquisition.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities and ensure smooth integration of new hires.
  • Support employee relations by documenting issues and escalating as needed.
  • Proactive involvement with Union representatives and responses to grievances.
  • Maintain accurate employee data in HR systems and prepare routine reports.
  • Assist with payroll and timekeeping processes (ADP experience a plus).
  • Provide administrative support for performance management and engagement initiatives.
  • Participate in plant committees and contribute to HR-related projects.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable labor laws.
  • Work across the AMI organization on HR process improvements
