About The Position

The HR Business Partner at Sycuan Casino plays a crucial role in aligning HR functions with the company's objectives. This position serves as a liaison between HR and business leaders, ensuring that HR practices are tailored to meet the needs of the organization and its culture. The HR Business Partner provides guidance on various HR topics, including employee relations, policy interpretation, retention strategies, and compliance with employment laws, while fostering team member engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years' human resources generalist experience.
  • Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including compensation practices and employee relations.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to drive processes to completion.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State employment laws.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Casino, Hospitality, or Entertainment industry experience.
  • Human Resources Certification (e.g., SHRM, SPHR).
  • Working knowledge of Ceridian (Dayforce) HRIS.
  • Fluent in Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Counsels and advises team members, supervisors, and managers on HR policies and practices.
  • Observes and analyzes HR practices, identifying problem areas and recommending changes.
  • Provides advice and counseling to front line managers on employee relations matters.
  • Conducts investigations in response to employee relations issues, including complaints and harassment allegations.
  • Identifies training needs and partners with management to provide solutions.
  • Improves work relationships, builds morale, and increases productivity and retention.
  • Provides performance management guidance to line management.
  • Ensures consistent application of compensation practices throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements affecting HR functions and ensures compliance.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding HR policies and programs.
  • Assists with onboarding and facilitates HR-related training.
  • Partners with Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and Talent Development to provide solutions.
  • Analyzes internal trends and metrics to develop solutions and programs.
  • May conduct full-cycle recruiting activities.
