About The Position

The HRBP I serves as a company resource with regard to maintaining the day-to-day operations of the HR Department in Plaquemine, and supporting all human resources functions for the location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field of study preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of human resources experience with prior recruitment experience required.
  • A professional certification in Human Resources (PHR/SHRM-CP) is a plus.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; detail oriented.
  • Able to work with people in various levels within Westlake, particularly in a team environment.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and experience in a HRIS preferred; ability to learn new databases and applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certification in Human Resources (PHR/SHRM-CP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as company representative as a central point of contact and coordinator of disability information for Plaquemine.
  • Assist in accurate management of the Plaquemine location regarding absence management.
  • Coordinate explanation of benefits and FMLA notification to employees on disability absences and personal leaves of absence.
  • Work with Westlake Corporate Benefits and Payroll to ensure accurate absence information is input into HRIS system.
  • Perform HR administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, entering purchase requisitions, and assisting in planning company events.
  • Serve as a backup to support recruiting efforts in the HR Department.
  • Maintain personnel requisitions, job postings, hiring, terminations, and leaves of absence.
  • Maintain job applicant information in Hiring Portal, including all candidates interviewed and hired.
  • Utilize Applicant Database and HRIS systems to keep accurate records and files.
  • Act as HRIS database super user and contact for employees, supervisors, and management.
  • Keep updated on all company policies to provide guidance to employees as required.
  • Demonstrate strong safety culture through personal behavior and commitment to environmental, health & safety.
  • Participate in the PACE culture of safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
