About The Position

HR Assistant Covering Four Counties of Direct Support Providers Who Assist Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities Along Life’s Journey Class LTD is hiring individuals to provide support for four counties of our direct care professionals who assist individuals with intellectual disabilities. The HR Assistant is responsible for support of many human resource programs within the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Assistant manages and maintains the applicant tracking system (ATS) known as Paycor Recruiting. They will own the integrity of all background check processing (including but not limited to, processes pre-employment screening requests such as KDADS, KNAR, DCF Adult/Child Registry and driver’s license checks), monthly screening notifications/tracking for compliance, personnel files maintenance, and filing. They monitor, receive and process employment verification's, assists the HR department in typing needs in Microsoft Word and spreadsheets in Excel. The HR Assistant keeps the Director of HR updated on any important HR issues that may arise. Paid training is provided. Dress code is relaxed business casual. The successful candidate will have a passion for enriching the lives of individuals with disabilities, a caring personality and an ability to be attentive to details. They will be able to lift 50 lbs. and pass a background check regarding criminal offenses and child/elder abuse. Customer service experience is a huge plus, as our employees are our customers. HR experience is required. Additional training will be provided for the right person.

Requirements

  • State accredited high school or equivalent (GED).
  • One or more year's relevant human resources experience
  • Familiar with human resources laws and practices
  • Working knowledge of office procedures and files a must.
  • General knowledge of and experience working with persons with developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of and experience in teaching skills, writing objectives and assessment techniques.
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of individuals.
  • Understanding of coordinating and arranging educational opportunities and work teams.
  • Must be computer literate (experience with Microsoft Office, specifically word/excel, highly preferred), have good organizational skills and above average written/verbal communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills a must.
  • Maintain a current and valid driver's license of the state of residence and be determined as an "insurable driver" by the automobile insurance carrier for CLASS LTD.
  • Comply with all federal, state and local laws regarding communicable and infectious diseases and CLASS LTD policies rules and practices regarding immunizations.
  • No records of convictions, administrative findings or history of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children or adults unable to protect their own interest, and conviction of other crimes, including, but not limited to crimes against persons, sex crimes, crimes against property, violation of personal rights, public safety, public morals, or any crimes that would be classified in Kansas as a felony or deemed unacceptable for employment with CLASS.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must be extremely organized and able to multi-task at a moments notice.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Read, comprehend & compose written material as required for documentation in employee files, medical files, FMLA procedures and policies.
  • Work as an effective member of HR and facilitator of HR policies/procedures to all four counties, as needed.
  • Attain minimum required in-service training each year.
  • Any other duties, as assigned.
