About the position

The Human Resources Assistant (Temporary) at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point provides essential administrative support to the HR department under the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer. This role is focused on enhancing the department's operations by managing communications, maintaining personnel files, and delivering exceptional customer service to stakeholders. The position is temporary, lasting approximately three months, and requires a commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and organize routine administrative communications, resources, and reports.
  • Maintain office equipment and supplies under close supervision.
  • Manage mail, email, and visitor traffic for the department.
  • Update and maintain employee personnel and related files.
  • Assist with records retention.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all stakeholders interfacing with HR.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for customers via email, phone, in-person, and through administrative support management software.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office Suite and intermediate computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the telephone, by email, and by web-based applications.
  • Ability to present effectively to groups of various sizes.
  • Experience with data entry, filing, and office equipment.
