About The Position

The Human Resources Assistant 3 at the University of California, Davis is responsible for supporting various aspects of recruitment, onboarding, and personnel administration for staff, students, and non-faculty academic employees. This role involves assisting with payroll activities, responding to inquiries from diverse campus stakeholders, and processing visa actions for foreign nationals. The position is integral to the Human Resources and Academic Personnel team within the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, providing essential administrative support and ensuring compliance with UC policies.

Requirements

  • 2 years of HR experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with human resources processes, systems, and personnel administration.
  • Experience in a paper-free, virtual office environment.
  • Proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and financial and payroll systems software.
  • Experience in payroll processing with an automated system and payroll calculations.
  • Strong writing skills for composing official letters and correspondence.
  • Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to interact effectively with diverse individuals.
  • Analytical and fact-finding skills to develop creative solutions to problems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Assist with staff, student, and non-faculty academic recruitment, appointment, onboarding, and separation according to UC policy.
  • Support departmental personnel and payroll activities for various employee categories.
  • Respond to requests from applicants, students, staff, faculty, and administrative offices.
  • Process visa actions for foreign nationals in collaboration with Services for International Students and Scholars (SISS).
  • Perform a variety of human resource, academic personnel, payroll actions, and general administrative support.
