About The Position

Summary: Conducts Human Resources and Safety activities for multiple facilities by performing the following duties: Human Resources Responsibilities : Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation and onboarding to foster a positive attitude toward company values and expectations. N ew hire documentation in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including but not limited to I-9, W-4, direct deposit authorization, confidentiality agreements, policy acknowledgments, and benefit enrollment forms Administer and maintain employee records, personnel files, and HRIS/Time & Attendance systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance. EX. C hange of address, tax withholding (W- 4's ), departmental transfers, rate increases, FMLA/WC/vacation/personal/sick leave, terminations, 401k benefits, etc. Employee Attendance: Accurately tracks employee attendance and enforces attendance policy. Answers phone calls and checks voicemails daily and responds appropriately the same day. Runs weekly Points reports, generates disciplinary forms with accurate data, and issues disciplinary action with documentation in employee records; distributes Points reports to HR team and staffing agency on sites . Payroll: Responsible for running and reviewing weekly reports to assist in preparation of timecards for payroll and bonus processing, which consists of 125+ employees. Assists in tracking milestone anniversaries, vacations and bonus participation for all hourly employees. Responds to company correspondence accurately and with urgency in regard to employee matters such as: garnishments, child support orders, tax levies , unemployment claims, and verifications. Employee Relations: Regularly interacts with leadership of Production, QC and Technical Services to discuss and resolve current issues; initiates updates routinely on employee relations' issues with Production Supervisors and required personnel . Ga thers necessary information through investigations, makes decisions that will impact employees' employment based on company policies, documents matters and communicates to HR Supervisor . Company Events: Translates, organizes, emails, posts, distributes and removes memos, announcements, employee bulletins and job postings under direction of Director or Supervisor of Human Resources. Assists in coordinating and facilitating employee events, such as holiday gift giving , on-site luncheons , open enrollment, wellness program activities, company luncheons, etc. Staffing Agencies Responsible for weekly/monthly verification, approval, documentation and submitting for payment of invoices; including but not limited to invoices for: temporary agency employees, employee benefits, criminal background checks. Routinely visits the Oak Lawn and Bedford Park facilities to field employee questions, address employee concerns, and issue disciplinary action. Performs other duties, as needed Safety Responsibilities: Organize, conduct, and manage annual trainings such as HACCP (GMP), Safety, Sexual Harassment and Butcher Certification training. Daily Production Walkthroughs: Ensure employees a r e wearing proper PPE , food safety gear , safety gear and following GMPs. I nspect company equipment and property to ensure compliance with safety standards. Handle accident reports, make sure records are properly filed, and identify strategies for preventing future accidents . Reports must be filed within 24 hours of incident occurrence. Assist in managing OSHA logs and other regulatory forms and processes. Assist in developing and/or implementing safety plans, policies, and developing programs that ensure safe working conditions using Alchemy . Requirements

  • Four-year degree from college or university; at least two years of related experience
  • Ability to read, write, speak and translate fluently and professionally between English and Spanish
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Knowledge of Human Resources systems; Internet software; payroll systems; spreadsheet software and Microsoft Office Word Processing software
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and communication skills
  • Ability to speak fluent Spanish is
  • Regular attendance is required
