About the position

The Human Resources and Event Specialist at Nemacolin is a hybrid role that combines event coordination and human resource activities. This position is essential for creating memorable experiences for associates and guests while ensuring effective HR support. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Produce coordinated associate and community activities that drive connection, engagement, wellness, and retention.
  • Develop and manage event budgets, timelines, and logistics.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure alignment and success of events.
  • Ensure seamless execution of events, handling all on-site activities and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  • Manage event communications across the resort, ensuring all relevant parties are informed and engaged throughout the planning and execution process.
  • Support associate engagement and retention programs.
  • Handle general HR inquiries from staff and provide guidance on company policies and procedures.
  • Support the HR team with various administrative tasks as needed.
  • Manage the Workforce Management system within the HRIS, including creating job transfer sets and pay codes, ensuring proper setups for all associates, and maintaining system accuracy.

Requirements

  • Strong project planning, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to engage with a diverse audience.
  • Preferred qualifications include a degree in HR Management, Event Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field, with at least 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent education with 4 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems—UKG Pro Learning preferred.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate Microsoft Office Programs - Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively perform multiple tasks.
  • Ability to interface professionally with business contacts and customers.
  • Strong understanding of the hospitality industry is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in event planning within the hospitality industry.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and workforce management tools.
