About The Position

The Human Resources Administrative Assistant at Unity School of Christianity plays a crucial role in supporting the People Support department by coordinating various HR functions, including benefits administration, onboarding, and HRIS reporting. This position serves as the first point of contact for applicants and employees, ensuring a smooth and efficient process while providing exceptional support and guidance. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Business or Human Resources (Bachelor's preferred).
  • 2 years of direct experience in administrative roles such as office manager or executive assistant.
  • 1 year of experience in pre-employment, onboarding, or benefits functions in a human support environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability in real-world employee situations.
  • Outstanding verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • 1 year of experience with Human Resources Information System (HRIS) preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR or SPHR certification is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws related to people support functions.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first line of contact for walk-in and online applicants, guests, and co-workers.
  • Troubleshoot and identify solutions independently in the front area of the department.
  • Administer behavioral assessments and skills testing for pre-interviews.
  • Research new testing and assessment offerings as requested.
  • Manage the post-offer process, including new hire documents and federal I-9 procedures.
  • Coordinate background check results and pre-employment drug testing.
  • Administer workflow transactions into Paycom HRIS, including electronic onboarding and employee status changes.
  • Interface with the payroll department as necessary.
  • Update and distribute reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
  • Create and plan employee engagement events and special activities.
  • Perform general administrative duties, including managing personnel files and scheduling for the PS department.
  • Complete online workers' compensation claims and LTD reports as requested.
