About The Position

The HR Specialist will provide administrative support in the areas of employee recruitment, hiring, retention, and evaluation. This role involves processing, verifying, and maintaining documentation relating to personnel activities such as staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, and classifications. The HR Specialist will process and review employment applications in the Applicant Tracking System to evaluate qualifications or eligibility of applicants, examine employee files to answer inquiries and provide information for personnel actions, and request information from law enforcement officials, previous employers, and other references to determine applicants' employment acceptability. Additionally, the specialist will respond to employee, manager, and Human Resource team requests and escalate issues as appropriate. The role includes providing support for employee onboarding as well as employee exit meetings, assisting with data management and file maintenance, creating and processing Personnel Action Forms, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in a Human Resource or Recruiting role.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Focus on meeting and exceeding client expectations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • SHRM-CP or HRCI-PHR certification.
