About The Position
The Human Milk/Formula Technician position is responsible for the preparation, distribution, inventory, and management of Human Milk (HM), Donor Human Milk (DHM) and infant/pediatric formulas. Ensures safe feedings for patients in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- CRT-ServSafe Handler - NRA National Restaurant Association 30 Days
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of relevant experience relevant area.
- Associate's degree or equivalent College level courses in Nutrition, Health, or Science related field
Responsibilities
- Interprets physician and Registered Dietitian orders for feeding.
- Scans all human milk, donor milk and formula additives into EPIC to mix accurate feedings.
- Utilizes electronic medical record and other software programs.
- Cleans mixing tools and work area.
- Monitors stock of supplies and expiration dates.
- Prepares formula and breastmilk mixtures using aseptic techniques in a clean area.
- Considers allergens and prevents cross-contamination.
- Uses techniques and tools to precisely measure liquids and powders.
- Follows standard work to maintain patient safety.
- Delivers prepared feedings to nursing units.
- Collaborates/communicates with other Human Milk & Formula Techs, Lead Techs, Registered Dietitians, nursing staff, and patients' families.
