Requirements

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 12 years’ experience or MS/MA 10 years ' or HS diploma/equivalent and 16 years’ experience.
  • Experience in human factors, UX/UI, user research, or human-centered systems design.
  • Experience working with technical teams to translate user needs into design recommendations.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to support occasional travel to field sites and remote locations, as required.
  • Ability to work in austere environments and Arctic conditions, including remote site access and limited-amenity accommodations, when needed.
  • Willingness to comply with applicable site safety, badging, and operational requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting aviation, federal, operational, or safety-critical systems.
  • Experience working in environments where field users or remote operators influence design.
  • Familiarity with interface evaluation methods and human performance considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead human factors and UX/UI analysis for supported systems and workflows.
  • Evaluate user needs, system interaction, and operational context to inform design recommendations.
  • Support requirements development related to usability, human performance, accessibility, and operational effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product owners, stakeholders, and end users to improve interface and workflow design.
  • Conduct or support user research, usability analysis, interface assessments, and design reviews.
  • Prepare findings, recommendations, and supporting design documentation.
  • Promote user-centered design practices across program activities.
