About The Position

Chamberlain University is seeking superior instructors with high professional standards, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, and a commitment to providing practitioner-focused education. The position is primarily for Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate students in various fields. The commitment is on a course-by-course basis, specifically for the Human Biology with Lab (BIOS150) course. This introductory course covers biological principles governing the normal state of the human body, emphasizing the structure and function of major organ systems. Students will explore core concepts in biochemistry, biology, genetics, anatomy, and physiology through virtual labs, case studies, and discussions.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree is required for all faculty positions, with 18 graduate hours in the subject being taught.
  • Ability to provide unofficial and official transcripts for all earned degrees from a regionally accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 1-year online teaching experience is preferred.
  • Ability to recognize signs of disengagement or academic struggle and intervene early.
  • Passion for student success and care for students.
  • Outstanding communication skills and subject matter expertise.
  • Excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse and non-traditional environment.
  • Ability to work collegially and facilitate efforts of diverse groups.
  • Additional requirements driven by state licensing or accreditation considerations may apply.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and provide students with an approved syllabus that follows an established template, including terminal course objectives.
  • Organize, prepare, and regularly revise and update all course materials.
  • Conduct the course using a student-focused coaching model, emphasizing proactive outreach through phone and email communication.
  • Utilize appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software.
  • Model effective oral and written communications that engage students and improve learning.
  • Set clear expectations for the course by publishing terminal objectives, assignment/examination dates, and evaluation categories.
  • Ensure that exam content corresponds to course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrate consistency and fairness in exam preparation and grading, providing timely feedback to students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.

Benefits

  • Expected compensation rate between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on education and experience.
  • Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors such as course type, experience, geographic location, and departmental budgets.
