The Outreach Program Coordinator organizes the development and delivery of outreach programs, including the responsibility for staffing. They will assist with policy development and organize resources to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and the local community. Finally, they will strive to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences. The Outreach Program Coordinator will work within the Lead and Asbestos Section which is housed in the Bureau of Environmental and Occupational Health, WI Department of Health Services. They will collaborate with other Lead & Asbestos team members to help families receive lead abatement services and prevent further lead poisoning in both children and adults. The Outreach Program Coordinator assists with the preparation of Tier 2 Environmental Reviews. These site-specific reviews must be completed prior to committing Federal funds to the project. This review concentrates on the environmental laws and authorities that were not resolved in the Tier 1 broad-level review that was already completed. Using the established protocols that were established at the broad level, these site-specific reviews must determine and document the project’s adherence to all established protocols and remaining requirements in the broad-level review. This position assists the Outreach Program Manager and Construction Project Manager in program enrollment through the preparation of the site-specific Tier 2 Environmental Reviews. The incumbent will: provide basic program information to program partners, contractors, suppliers and homeowners; serve as the initial program contact and direct any complex inquiries to the appropriate entities; monitor invoices that are received; submit and reconcile expense reports; and assist in preparing the quarterly reports.

  • Serves as the first point of contact providing basic program information via phone and other communication mediums, routing more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities.
  • Compiles invoices that are received.
  • Reviews reports for federal, state, and local partners.
  • Experience communicating with diverse audiences via phone, email or other communication methods.
  • Experience providing outreach activities to diverse audiences in housing programs.
  • Knowledge in environmental health topics such as Lead.
  • At least one year of experience performing outreach activities.
  • Some experience performing clerical/administrative work is also preferred.
  • Minimum $48,107 ANNUAL (12 months)
  • Negotiable salary based on experience and qualifications
