The HUC/Aide provides support for the patient care area under the guidance and direction of the Nursing Staff.
Responsibilities
Provides care to patients in an organized and systematic manner according to institutional policy in keeping with patient safety principles.
Performs all clerical functions. Exhibits good organizational, time management and teamwork skills, which contribute to the management and efficient operation of the unit.
Serves as the main focus for communication in the nursing station regarding all unit patient care activities to ensure efficient coordination of the unit activities.
Demonstrates the ability and competency to respond quickly and efficiently in emergency situations.
Delivers quality patient care under the supervision of the team coordinator and in accordance with the individualized plan of care to ensure the continuity of care.
Communicates any problems, concerns or issues promptly to the nurse.
Requirements
BLS Certification through the American Heart Association.
Previous clinical or hospital experience preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology, as well as good computer proficiency, with excellent customer service and communication skills.
Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods with the ability to lift, push and pull.
