About The Position

The Hub Route Driver plays a critical role in ensuring that the organization's customers receive the parts and accessories they need in a timely and efficient manner by moving Aesop stock between locations for further dissemination to our customers. Additionally, the driver's adherence to safety procedures and traffic laws helps to minimize the risk of accidents and associated costs, which ultimately contributes to the organization's financial success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Valid and clear driver’s license with a Medical Dot Card
  • Meet Motor Vehicle Record requirements for safety.
  • CDL License will be required. If the vehicle to be driven, the vehicle has a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more.
  • Location-based State Certifications and Endorsements may be required.
  • 1-year minimum professional/commercial driving experience operating a tractor - trailer.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Must be able to work effectively alone or with others in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively across functions.
  • Must be a self-starter with the demonstrated ability to meet timelines and schedules related to essential functions described above.
  • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Forklift Certificate preferred.
  • Automotive experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of common routes, and ability to plan and keep focused while transporting parts from one location to another.
  • Ensure that goods or materials are transported safely, efficiently, on time, and in good condition to each location.
  • Comply with federal and state regulations governing the operation of commercial motor vehicles, including adhering to hours-of-service regulations, and maintaining vehicle logs.
  • Ensure the vehicles driven are scheduled for service and repairs when necessary.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle safety inspections and reports.
  • Safe operation of the vehicle and compliance with regulations set forth by the Department of Transportation.
  • Follow Company safety procedures and protocols; including but not limited to speed limits, driver courtesy, and construction zone awareness.
  • Report all driving violations, vehicle operational concerns, or damage immediately regardless of perceived significance.
  • Follow loading and unloading procedures and ensure that the parts are secured properly and will not be damaged during transit.
  • Use the appropriate parts handling equipment, properly distribute the weight of the parts, and follow safety protocols.
  • Complete pre- and post-trip inventory or manifest checklists, and report any in-transit or delivery damage.
  • Work as a team with coworkers as needed to ensure efficient and safe movement of parts.
  • Perform Other Duties as Assigned
