The Senior Telephony Engineer I at CDW is a pivotal role responsible for the support and management of the company's telephony systems. This includes a comprehensive range of tasks such as installation, configuration, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of telecommunication platforms. The engineer will ensure that CDW's voice, contact center, and video telecommunication systems are operational and accessible at all times. As a subject matter expert in the WebEx suite for video teleconferencing, the engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing communication capabilities across the organization. In this role, the engineer will perform operations and maintenance tasks for local, off-site, and remote locations, ensuring that all telecommunication systems are functioning optimally. They will analyze and evaluate existing telecommunication and video systems, recommending improvements and implementing software solutions as necessary. The engineer will also provide training to customers on the features and functionalities of the telecommunications systems, ensuring that users are well-equipped to utilize the technology effectively. The Senior Telephony Engineer I will lead the analysis, acquisition, and installation of remote hardware and software, working closely with both internal and external customers and vendors. They will be responsible for creating a Business Continuity Plan for CDW's telephony platforms, leading reviews and tests to ensure preparedness for any potential disruptions. Additionally, the engineer will coordinate with the Telephony Team to provide Level 3 support for complex issues, plan changes, and acquire necessary approvals from the change advisory board. This position requires a proactive approach to security, as the engineer will assess vulnerabilities and maintain compliance for telephony voice and video solutions. The role may also require working off-hours and weekends as needed, and participation in a rotational on-call schedule is expected. The engineer will provide mentorship to lower-level engineers and collaborate with business owners to meet project requirements, ensuring that all telecommunication needs are met efficiently and effectively.
