About The Position
Mayo Clinic is seeking a Healthcare Engineering Tech 1 who will maintain medical and clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan and current asset management software. Technicians will demonstrate skills associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment and systems. They must provide primary service expertise and backup responsibility on multiple types of biomedical equipment, with expectations to advance within approximately 5 years. Equipment must be maintained to ensure reliable, accurate, and high-quality results for patient care and safety. Service calls are communicated directly from the equipment user to the technician, requiring a response time of 15 minutes or less. Technicians must prioritize their work, be available for overtime, and participate in an on-call rotation if needed. Strong customer focus, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential. Continuous improvement of knowledge and abilities is required to remain proficient in this role.
