About The Position

The position is responsible for the implementation and overall HSSEQ initiatives of the organization to ensure the safety and well-being of employees. This includes designing, directing, administrating, and overseeing the successful development and implementation of the organization's safety programs while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal environmental, health, safety, and security regulations. The role also encompasses Quality Assurance and Project Management responsibilities, ensuring that products meet quality expectations and managing projects related to facility construction and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Safety, Environmental Health, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years direct work experience in environmental health and safety and construction and facility operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem resolution skills, along with customer service and team orientation skills.
  • Knowledge or training in occupational health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Understanding of construction, infrastructure, and facility operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of delivering hands-on health, safety, and environmental training.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop a strong team.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, practices, and procedures.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Experience in performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and Internet.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Company's safety program by maintaining policies, regulations, and industrial safety processes.
  • Monitor facility and processes for adherence to OSHA guidelines and the elimination of industrial accidents.
  • Develop health and safety programs for various facets of the organization.
  • Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine causes and preventive measures.
  • Review and report findings from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing.
  • Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards.
  • Conduct or coordinate worker training in areas such as safety laws and regulations.
  • Review, update, and maintain employee safety programs.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to occupational illnesses and accidents.
  • Conduct or direct testing of air quality, noise, temperature, and/or radiation levels.
  • Maintain liaisons with outside organizations for emergency responses.
  • Provide leadership and support for the organization's safety committee.
  • Serve as the designated Company Safety Officer.
  • Advise management on HSSE performance and recommend improvements.
  • Lead the organization in Quality Assurance efforts.
  • Evaluate, develop, and implement QA training programs.
  • Review documentation related to internal manufacturing processes.
  • Utilize current NCR and Customer Complaint data to drive process improvements.
  • Provide functional support for analysis of quality data.
  • Set up primary, secondary, and support processes in the QA system.
  • Manage small projects with the local maintenance team and larger projects with external subcontractors.
  • Create and maintain project schedules to track progress.
  • Communicate with internal teams and management to align on project needs.
  • Select and manage external contractors, architects, and engineers.
  • Ensure projects comply with all federal, state, and local building and safety codes.
