About The Position

The HSSE Manager at E. N. Bisso & Son Inc. plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations across the vessel fleet. This position is responsible for educating and enforcing compliance-related policies and procedures, as well as safety and environmental requirements. The HSSE Manager will be tasked with scheduling and conducting safety and compliance audits, both internal and external, and will respond to and complete USCG compliance inspections in a timely manner. The role requires meticulous documentation of all audits and inspections in the Helm CONNECT system, ensuring that any non-conformities and deficiencies identified during audits are addressed promptly with documented corrective action plans. In addition to managing audits, the HSSE Manager will maintain the Helm audit database and compliance forms, ensuring that all compliance-related vessel and office documents and certifications are accurately maintained. This includes USCG Certifications, Safety Management Certificates for vessels, EPIRB certifications, and vessel registrations. The position also involves collaboration with other departments to develop processes and procedures that enhance compliance and safety across the organization. The HSSE Manager will assist the Operations Department as needed to ensure that all vessels are ready for service and will manage the Corrective Action process in Helm CONNECT for all audit and inspection findings. The role requires frequent travel to attend vessel and office inspections and audits, and the HSSE Manager will work both in an office setting and on floating vessels. The position demands physical capability to crouch, stoop, climb ladders, and lift and carry weights between 25-50 lbs. The work environment may expose the manager to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels, and potentially hazardous equipment. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with occasional after-hours phone calls expected.
