About The Position
At UnitedHealthcare, we are dedicated to simplifying the health care experience and creating healthier communities. As the HSS Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing a team of 15 field staff who provide essential care management services under the Virginia Medicaid contract. This leadership position requires you to oversee compliance with authorizations and daily contractually required activities, ensuring that all operations meet the necessary standards. You will be responsible for monitoring, coaching, and developing your team members to help them reach their highest potential while supporting them in removing barriers and addressing the needs of our members. In this role, you will respond to requests from the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) with timely and accurate information, support other managers, and provide coverage when needed. You will also conduct annual ride-along visits with team members to ensure quality service delivery. Leading staff meetings and actively participating in projects aimed at quality and process improvements will be key components of your responsibilities. Your ability to communicate professionally will be essential in supporting both internal and external communications, as well as leading your team in managing the complex medical needs of members within home services. Additionally, you may be required to perform in-home assessments when coverage is minimally needed. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely if you reside within a commutable distance of the Alexandria and Fairfax, Virginia markets.
